Break the
Barriers Makes History in Xiamen, China! |

Break the Barriers and the
Barrier Breakers made history in Xiamen, China (see Break
the Barriers Travels to Xiamen for China's First "National Day
for the Disabled"), with performances and educational workshop
presentations for the Chinese Department of Disabled Services, The
Department of Religion and The Department of Education, as well as
for schools, universities and other public venues throughout the province.
They made headlines and garnered wide television coverage for each
performance during their 10-day visit. An unprecedented request for
an additional performance was made by the Vice Mayor of Xiamen, China
and other Chinese dignitaries. |

Break the Barriers was presented
with a 20' by 32' banner that will be proudly displayed at Break the
Barriers' facility depicting the combined knowledge and efforts of
the people of China and Break the Barriers. |

"This was started for
a sister, but this team is for the world. You are International influence.
Because you use visual arts we can see the potential of our children
- and you must not stop this education for the world" -Head of
Department of Disability, Xiamen, China. |

Break the Barriers is very
proud to have been a stewardship of influence in the world of Inclusion.
As ambassadors of Inclusion, the Barrier Breakers made an impact for
those families with children of Down Syndrome, giving them hope and
inspiration. Their presence had made such an impression that parents
are determined to start the first Down Syndrome Society in Xiamen. |
